About Us

Founded in 2022, the Living Medieval Magazine brings the medieval world to life through the knowledge and experience of those living and learning it.

The Middle Ages both fascinate and horrify in equal measure. It was both a sensitive yet violent era that captures the imaginations of millions. And for good reason; it was a time when the reality of the world could and did resemble a shocking Game of Thrones episode. But what do we truly know about this medieval world?

Living Medieval is here to shine a light on the what, why and how of living in this captivating period through the knowledge and experience of re-enactors, archaeologists and historians. We love to share interesting and diverse aspects of medieval life, considering the facts and events of history alongside the realities and practicalities of everyday medieval life.

Living Medieval is published online 4 times a year, with featured articles shared on our website regularly.  If you are interested in getting involved with the magazine then head over to the ‘Write for us’ page to find out more.
